A smile that grows with them.
Early clear aligner care — gentle, precise, and built around your child’s life.
If you’ve noticed something in your child’s smile — crowding, a bite that doesn’t sit right, a habit you’re not sure about — the right time to ask is earlier than most parents think.
At ClearCut Orthodontics, early treatment isn’t about rushing anything. It’s about giving your child’s smile the best possible foundation before small issues become bigger ones — and doing it in a way that’s comfortable, manageable, and completely tailored to your family.
No metal. No wires. Nothing scary.
Clear aligners are smooth, removable, and custom-made to fit your child’s mouth comfortably. There’s nothing to poke, nothing to break, and nothing that turns lunch into a problem.
Your child can eat what they like — pizza, apples, popcorn at the movies. They brush normally. They wear the aligners during the day and at night, remove them when needed, and get on with being a kid. Most children adapt within a few days and forget they’re wearing them at all.
And for the visits themselves: our team works with kids every day. We know how to make a young child feel safe, comfortable, and even a little proud of what they’re doing for their smile.
The window matters more than most parents realize.
Between the ages of 6 and 10, your child’s jaw and bite are still developing. That growth window is genuinely useful — it’s when gentle guidance can correct issues that, left alone, become much harder to treat later.
Early treatment isn’t about putting a young child through years of orthodontics. In most cases, it’s a targeted, limited phase of care that sets up a much smoother — and often shorter — treatment later on. Think of it as doing the easy work now so your child doesn’t have to do the hard work at sixteen.
Common concerns we address early:
- Crowding and spacing — when there isn’t enough room for permanent teeth to come in correctly
- Bite alignment issues — overbite, underbite, crossbite, or open bite caught and corrected early
- Jaw development — guiding growth before the window closes
- Habits that affect tooth positioning — thumb sucking, tongue thrust, mouth breathing
Not sure if your child needs early treatment? That’s exactly what the consultation is for. Dr. Skopek will give you a clear, honest answer — and if early treatment isn’t needed, he’ll tell you that too.
Two phases, explained simply.
Phase I — Early Treatment
Phase I orthodontic treatment typically occurs between ages 6 and 10, when your child’s jaw is still developing. The goal is to guide jaw growth, create space for permanent teeth, correct bite issues early, and address habits that affect tooth positioning — before they become more complex problems. Phase I is targeted and limited: it addresses specific concerns during the growth window, not the full alignment journey.
Phase II — Full Treatment
Once most permanent teeth have come in — typically in the early teen years — Phase II treatment addresses the full alignment of the smile. For many patients, a successful Phase I makes Phase II shorter, simpler, and more predictable. Dr. Skopek will outline both phases and the expected timeline at your child’s consultation.
The practice you choose for your child’s smile matters.

Invisalign® Clear Aligners, Only.
ClearCut focuses exclusively on clear aligner treatment — no traditional braces, no divided attention across multiple systems. For a child’s case, that means your child’s treatment is handled by a team whose entire expertise is built around the same technology being used to treat them.

The ROX® System.
Every case at ClearCut — including your child’s — follows the ROX® framework: a structured, step-by-step approach designed for predictable results, clear communication with parents, and a consistent experience from the first visit to the final reveal. You’ll always know where your child’s treatment stands and what comes next.
We know you’re managing a lot. This shouldn’t add to it.
We keep early treatment manageable — fewer disruptions to your week, clear communication at every stage, and a team that handles the details so you don’t have to. Most of our young patients have significantly fewer in-office visits than traditional orthodontic treatment requires.
You’ll receive clear communication at every stage — what’s happening, what’s coming next, and what to watch for at home. No guessing. No wondering if things are on track.
And during the visits themselves, we keep it calm and positive, and we take the time to make your child feel comfortable before we do anything else. A good first experience with orthodontic care sets the tone for every visit after it. We take that seriously.

Frequently Asked Questions About Early Clear Aligner Treatment
How young is too young for orthodontic treatment?
What is Invisalign First™?
Will my child actually wear the aligners?
What's the difference between Phase I and Phase II treatment?
Does my child need to see a specialist, or can our regular dentist handle this?
Orthodontic treatment is a specialty — and the distinction matters more than most parents realize. General dentists are trained to restore, maintain, and care for teeth. Orthodontists specialize in moving them — and moving teeth well requires a deep understanding of bite function, jaw development, myofunctional balance, bone biology, and how teeth interact with existing restorations. It’s not just about straightening a few teeth. It’s about creating a bite that functions correctly, a smile that lasts, and a result that works in harmony with the rest of your dental care. For early treatment in particular, specialist oversight matters: the growth window is narrow, the decisions are consequential, and precision planning makes a significant difference. Dr. Skopek works closely with your general dentist — your GP handles your child’s ongoing dental health, we handle the alignment, and together you get the best possible outcome from both.
How much does early clear aligner treatment cost?
Treatment costs vary depending on your child’s case. At your complimentary consultation, you’ll receive a clear, itemized treatment proposal with full pricing and insurance guidance before any decision is made. ClearCut partners with OrthoFi, whose insurance experts work to maximize every benefit you’re entitled to and handle your forms, payments, and HSA/FSA documentation. We believe in complete transparency on cost — there are no surprise fees at ClearCut.
What if we're not ready to start treatment right now?
That’s completely fine. If the timing isn’t right — for any reason — Dr. Skopek will outline what to monitor and when to check back in. Early treatment only works when your family is ready for it. The consultation provides information; the decision is always yours.
